It is researched by MTU of the Engine and Turbine Alliance in 1997. There are 8 cylinder series, 12 cylinder series, 16 cylinder series, 18 cylinder series and 20 cylinder series separately. Output power ranges from 270KW to 2720 KW. The four-stroke engine is multi-functional, highly reliable and economical, which caters to demand for environment protection and emission reduction in the future.
1, Advanced complete electronic management system:
1.1, MTU2000 series engine adopts MDEC electronic management system which includes ECU, sensor and fault monitor.
1.2, Sensors distributed around all parts of engine collect operating parameters and signals and transmit them to ECU. After being processed by the internally set formula, oil supply system controlled by ECU will inject oil at best parameters in the working condition, which ensures best performance(lowest oil consumption and minimum emission)and reliability.
1.3, MDEC also has the function of digital speed regulator, which ensures best dynamic and static electrical performance. It performs water temperature, oil pressure, water level and over speed protection and alarm function, too.
1.4, Failure code monitor: Real-time monitoring of Benz diesel generator with fault diagnosing.
2, Advanced complete fuel injection system-common-rail fuel injection system.
The single cylinder injection pump, short high pressure oil-way, closed circuit oil loop and electronic control oil injection nozzle ensure reliable operation and steady rotation speed. The low emission and oil consumption guarantee excellent acceleration performance and load characteristic.
3,Complete turbocharging and cooling technology-sequential turbocharging system and double-loop cooling water circulation system keep engine in a thermal equilibrium state.
